RAGH annual conference on gemmotherapy

ARGH-conference-May-2012The Third National Conference of the Romanian Association of Gemmotherapy and Homeopathy, which is actually the largest gemmotherapy event in the world, will take place this year from 18-19 May 2012 in the Hotel Savoy, Mamaia, Constanta, Romania.

Guests of honour are Fernando Piterà MD, author and expert on gemmotherapy from Genoa, Italy, and once again, Nick Churchill, Principal of the School of Gemmotherapy, UK.

Fernando Piterà seminar in Constanta, Romania

Fernando PiteraFernando Piterà MD, the renowned author of Compendio di Gemmoterapia Clinica (‘Compendium of Clinical Gemmotherapy’), is presenting a two-day seminar on gemmotherapy in Mamaia, near Constanta, Romania from 16-17 May 2012, at the invitation of the Romanian Association of Gemmotherapy and Homeopathy, and sponsors PlantExtrakt of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Dr Piterà is is one of the leading authorities in the world on gemmotherapy. His 800 page book has gone through seven Italian editions since 1994, and has been translated into Romanian – but not as yet English. It is considered the ‘Bible’ of gemmotherapy by those practitioners who can read it.

Webinar series from the School of Gemmotherapy

The School of Gemmotherapy is presenting an introductory webinar series on gemmotherapy, starting Saturday 21 January 2012.

Webinars are fast becoming a popular way of presenting educational information on the net, with Gemmos LLC in the USA and Seroyal in Canada already using the format to sell their products.

They are a new but obvious addition to the educational programs of the School of Gemmotherapy – through its Study Methods module, the School has always focused on enhancing students’ learning experiences by focusing on the various ways in which information is communicated and absorbed most effectively.

Gemmotherapy at the Botanica2012 conference

A major international conference on plant therapeutics and clinical aromatherapy is to take place in Dublin, Ireland in September 2012. Bringing together professionals in the fields of herbal medicine and aromatherapy, the aim of Botanica2012 is ‘to share information, present results and showcase the potential of essential oils and related herbal remedies across a range of clinical environments’.

More than twenty speakers from as far afield as the USA and Japan, as well as several European countries, are presenting papers. One of them is Nick Churchill, Principal of the School of Gemmotherapy, UK, whose lecture is entitled ‘Gemmotherapy: new shoots in herbal medicine’.

New book on gemmotherapy in Dutch

Handboek GemmotherapieA new book on ‘the youngest branch of phytotherapy’ has been published in Holland. The Handboek Gemmotherapie, by Ted Gerretzen, contains a description of gemmotherapy and an explanation of how it is used, followed by ‘comprehensive monographs’ on fifty-three remedies, with a ‘thorough representation of the properties and indications… as well as possible combinations’.

There is also a ‘summary of the areas of use for’ various gemmotherapy products and a repertory with suggested remedies for over two hundred and eighty conditions. It is ‘richly illustrated’.
